SO D*MN LAZY!

There are so many things that I need to do but I just don't feel like it...
1) Clean my office. If you saw the photo I posted of my desk on facebook, that's only part of it. This place is a mess... but I just don't feel like cleaning
2) Clean the kitchen/living room/dining room. It is also a mess... as always. I just can't do it
3) Make an appointment with the podiatrist. This one I should really do, since my foot still seems to be messed up and it's been almost a week. Maybe give it a few more days... I still have a lot of 800 mg Ibuprofen left in that bottle...
4) Oil change. This should have been done almost 1000 miles ago, also something I REALLY need to get done... maybe Tuesday?
4.5) Spend more time with my family. I don't see anyone as much as I'd like to...
5) Start volunteering at the hospital. This is something I've wanted to start doing for a while... then I figured I should wait until I have a more solid work schedule because they ask when you're available. HELLO I'm VOLUNTEERING, why are you so picky?! I know, I know, I shouldn't be so rude. Now, I have a set schedule at work (for the most part) so I should be able to tell them when I'm available.
6) Take the ASSET test. Yeah I know, I've been in college for about 4 years now... and I have no degree... really I have nothing to show for it... Except that I know I want to be a doctor, I just have to get my butt in gear and start working on it. In order to do that, I need to take a plethora of science and math classes. Did I mention I need to take the ASSET test?
7) Get some MCAT prep stuff... It's never to early to prepare...
8) Plant a money tree. Eric's school is expensive. Med school is expensive. I don't want to be up to my ears in student loans making 20k for the first few years as an intern/resident/fellow....
9) Plan WOLF meeting. This is work related, and I shouldn't think about it outside of work... but there's only 40 hours I can work in a week... and I don't have time when I'm there...
10) Sleep??? I need more sleep... or less sleep so I can get more done.
11) Figure out a way to add hours to the day in case I decide I want more sleep rather than less (I'm really leaning that way)

Lalalala I'm going to play with my nephew aka Mr Adorable Pants

Leaving on a jet plane

Blogging at you live from Sky Harbor today. What an exciting journey our vacation has been thus far, and we aren't even on the plane yet! We left the house a little late this morning, but still got to Brent's on time. I think this airport needs to come up with e better system for security checks with people in wheelchairs. Perhaps they should have their own line. We had the great fortune of being in the combined line of wheelers and walkers. We weren't really sure if we were cutting anyone or what was going on... It took us about 20 minutes to get through that portion of the line, after showing our boarding passes and IDs to the guy at the podium. Good times. I felt really uncomfortable taking my flippers off and walking on the nasty carpet barefoot where other people have had their disgustingly sweaty socks. Tinea pedis anyone?! No thanks! They also made me put my half ounce of hand sanitizer in a plastic ziplock bag. Seriously, you can't inspect my little bottle of hand sanitizer unless its in a plastic bag? Whatever I have to do I guess...
Now we're just sitting at the gate, waiting. Our flight isn't until 9:40, so we have quite a bit of time. Eric is in line as I write this, buying me some Cinnabon and himself a Nathan's hot dog. I personally do not think a hot dog is proper breakfast, but to each his own. I'm just glad I was able to feed my habit and get on the internet at the airport. Thank you, modern technology!

At the Clinic

"James, a 36-year-old engineer, appeared at the clinic in an extremely debilitated condition. He had purple-brown lesions on his skin and a persistent cough. A physical examination revealed swollen lymph nodes. Laboratory tests revealed a low lymphocyte count. Information taken during the personal history revealed that James is a homosexual. The skin lesions proved to be evidence of Kaposi's sarcoma. What is James's problem?"

If you thought his problem was that he's an engineer you would be wrong. He is suffering from acquired immune deficiency syndrome, or AIDS. Poor guy, he's going to die. But, I guess we all have to go someday.

"About six months after an automobile accident in which her neck was severely lacerated, a young woman comes to the clinic for a routine checkup. Visual examination shows a slight swelling just inferior to her larynx; her skin is dry and her face is puffy. When questioned, the woman reports that she fatigues easily, has been gaining weight, and her hair is falling out. What do you think is wrong?"

A woman was driving a car, she got in an accident. Menstruation is causing her other "symptoms." She's tired because of it, and she has been eating lots of chocolate which is causing her weight gain. Plus, she is going crazy from the hormones and has been pulling out her hair. The dry skin is from lack of lotion, and her face is puffy from excessive crying.
The real issue, unfortunately, is hypothyroidism from the trauma which is causing her to exhibit an autoimmune reaction to formerly "hidden antigens" in the thyroid gland colloid.

"Use of birth control pills decreases the acidity of the vaginal tract. Why might this increase the incidence of vaginal infection (vaginitis)?"

Well, because she's on the pill, Jane feels that she can have sex with whomever she wants as often as she wants. Thus, the probability of getting an infection increases.
The real answer: The acidity of the vaginal tract inhibits bacterial growth. Hence, anything that decreases vaginal acidity provides an opportunity for bacterial proliferation and vaginal inflammation.

"Patty Hourihan is a strict environmentalist and a new mother. Although she is very much against using disposable diapers, she is frustrated by the fact that her infant breaks out in a diaper rash when she uses cloth diapers. Considering that new cloth diapers do not cause the rash, but washed ones do, what do you think the problem is?"

Patty is a hippie and thinks that her child should run wild naked through the house. She is more concerned about the earth than her child's rear end. Patty should switch to disposable diapers immediately.
The real issue is that her child gets contact dermatitis likely caused by a reaction to the chemicals in the detergent used to launder the diapers. Time to switch to the organic stuff I suppose... Way to go Patty.

"A young man is rushed to the emergency room after fainting. HIs blood pressure is alarmingly low, and his companion reports the man collapsed shortly after being stung by a wasp. What has caused his hypotension? What treatment will be given immediately?"

The "young man" was smoking weed. He was high and thought it would be cool to play with a wasp... He passed out from eating too many "special" brownies.
Actually, anaphylactic shock caused his hypotension. They should inject him with epinephrine STAT

I feel dum...b

I've wasted the past week... Haven't done nearly enough studying... I'm sitting here taking practice quizzes and tests from my text book software and I'm feeling like I've forgotten everything I learned the past eight weeks. Where's the epiglottis?! What does it do again?! What is this muscle in my mouth that is used to push food around while I chew?! What's the formula for teeth?! What is a macrophage?! AHHHHH ... This is simply an exaggeration... I'm freaking out a little, though. I'm glad I have an extra week to study because I certainly wouldn't be ready tomorrow for this silly final. Who would like to help me study?! I have the day off tomorrow and that's ALL I will be doing, from 7 am until whenever I fall asleep on my books. Please... anyone... ??

Todays Interesting Facts

Today, I am studying up on the blood chapter of my book. Let me tell you something about erythrocytes (more commonly known as Red Blood Cells or RBCs). Normally, five Million cells are in a cubic millimeter of blood (a very tiny drop). A single erythrocyte contains 250 million hemoglobin molecules, each one capable of binding four molecules of oxygen. Thus, each red blood cell can carry one Billion molecules of oxygen... That just gives you something to think about... That one little drop of blood sure has a lot of oxygen molecules in it...

Rescheduled

I haven't logged on to my school site for a few days since all I have left is the final exam, which is supposed to be August 1st. For some reason, I decided to jump on today, and I had an email waiting for me from my BIO160 instructor. The email started out saying there is going to be a scheduled power outage and server update that will affect Riolearn on August 1st. The next few lines I expected to say were something along the lines of the final being moved up a day or something. Then, much to my surprise, I got the best news possible. The final exam deadline has been extended one week, August 8th! Hooray!! I love the extra week I am given to study :) The only downside is that I took Thursday-Saturday off this week in order to prepare for the final, study study study. Plus, I'm scheduled to work on the 8th, and we have a meeting at 7am! YIKES!! The good news is that my schedule is pretty flexible so I can probably still get the time off that I need :) I love my job, in case you were wondering. I got so much done today; it felt good!

I better get back to this studying business! I am going to make the most out of this extra week and hopefully get an A+++

Serving Size: 3

I never looked at serving sizes until I started working out. It's not that I have a weight problem, unless being too light is a problem, I just got curious about what I was eating. Today, I went to eat some taquitos; I know, delicious. For as long as I can remember I would either eat 5 or 6 of them; after all, taquitos are an entire meal! Well, today, for the first time ever, I learned what a serving size of taquitos is... THREE. If any of you are familiar with Brian Regan, he makes a joke about the serving size of fig newtons (two cookies). I feel that way about this delicious, frozen, mexican treat. I wonder what the serving size is for the sour cream I'm going to have with them...

Going back to the 90's

Here I sit, in my office, studying for my BIO160 final when suddenly my iTunes (on shuffle) plays "Lightning Crashes" by Live. Naturally, I take iTunes off shuffle and listen to the entire album, Throwing Copper. I like it here in the 90's; I don't even care if I was 6 when this album came out. I didn't even know I had it... It absolutely reminds me of being a kid and 98 KUPD. Soon, I'll be back in the year 2009, or somewhere around there, listening to current indie rock. The 90's must remain a distant memory.

Success

My study snack from yesterday has paid off. (Why do you hate PowerAde, mom?) I got 100% on my quiz, and I still had about 5 out of 13 minutes left for my 25 questions :) A great way to start the day! I woke up at about 6:15 today, despite the fact that it is my day off and I could have slept in. Why does my body do that to me? I suppose I can get a lot done today since my quiz is finished and I had until midnight to take it. Slumber party at Melissa's tonight with all my sisters and mi madre! I can't wait :) I have until 3 to get everything done that I don't have to get done today :p Seems like it is going to be a nice relaxed Saturday! I haven't had one of these since... well last Saturday! Can I just say how much I LOVE my new position? Having my old one eliminated and taking a minor pay cut was well worth it. I am such a happy camper all the time now :) I have all this free time, and weekends off (for the most part). I get to spend more time with my family, since they all have regular jobs and have get togethers on Saturdays. I LOVE IT!

PS- I am NOT on Facebook. My blog is linked to my notes, and I get emails on my phone ;) I am thinking about taking my blog off facebook, so if you still want to stalk me you will have to visit my blog http://vpandep.blogspot.com/

What I did on my summer day off...

Well, I decided to clean my office and the closet in my office today. I thought it would only take an hour, maybe an hour and a half. Nearly three hours later, I am finally done. I had so much junk in this place, it was ridiculous! Now that the office is complete, I should probably work on the other rooms in the house, but I'll study for my final instead.

I did get a small wound while working today. Go figure, right? I tried to pull the ledge down on my laptop chill mat, and miscalculated the distance from the edge to the ledge... And, the chill mat was on... Let's just say fan + index finger = blood. We're out of little band aids, so I have a big one on my tiny finger. It wraps around twice, which gives me some nice padding, but also makes it difficult to type this entry without many errors.

I did forget to eat today... I made muffins for breakfast and had some of those. But, I worked and worked and then it was 5 and I hadn't eaten since breakfast! I decided to have a cup full of goldfish instead of a meal... Eric should be home around 7:30, so maybe I'll have real food then. I am so unfit to be a parent...

Another one comes and goes...

I just finished up my study guide and quiz that was supposed to take up most of my day... It's only 1:30... Now what? I started looking at classes again, knowing that the ones I need to take are already full at every stinkin' community college in Arizona. Why do all of these people want to be nurses?? They're taking up all of my classes... I'm glad there will be a lot of them when I'm done with med school... but, seriously! I need to take some science classes... I also need to take the placement test so I can take english and math and get them out of the way. I'm actually looking forward to math, until I take the practice tests and realize that I have forgotten all of the upper level math I used to know, like logarithms and other random things. Awesome, huh? I guess it's a good thing the school gives you a window of opportunity from the last math class you took. The last one I took was MAT187 (precalc) my junior year of high school... Why did I slack off so badly senior year? Having a job was so not worth what it did to my college career... I wish I knew then what I know now. I guess that's a pretty common feeling, though.

Countdown to the final for BIO160 has begun... It's on Saturday, 8/1... I'm going to FAIL! But, I can get a 62% and end up with a B in the class... which is NOT satisfactory for me... The midterm killed my grade, and I got a C on it... EFF THAT! I studied my ass off for that midterm too... I would have got a B had I known my instructor wanted novels for the four essay questions in 45 minutes.... I used almost all of the time for the "basic" responses that I gave... I guess a B in an online biology class (anatomy and physiology no less) is something to be proud of, since most people fail or drop the class because it is too much work. Why can't I be happy about it?! Oh, right, because I'm a perfectionist...

On a happier note, Eric surprised me with a new camera last night! I have had my eye on the Canon SD780IS (in black) for months... And somehow I have "misplaced" my SD630 *tear* I think I left it at Sandi's on the 4th, but it's probably around here somewhere. I didn't come out of my office when he got home last night, I just kept on playing the Sims 3 (addictive). When he got off the phone with his mom, he called me out into the living room... and still I didn't see it, sitting on the dining room table. When I finally did, I was super excited!! I can't wait to take pictures with it!!! I love it!!! It also does HD video and has an HDMI output on it! Plus, it's tiny!!! Nice and thin, but still an amazing Canon quality camera with a DIGIC 4 processor (I know that means nothing to you... but it means everything to me).

Also, there is a new addition to the Percival family! No, I'm not pregnant! Eric's sister, Michelle, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Jeanne Nicole Moore, on the 14th! 6lbs 15oz, 20in long; she's such a doll!! I'm so excited to meet our niece on our trip to the in-laws in a couple of weeks. I guess, for now, I will have to get my baby fix from our niece and nephew, and friends' kids...

It's so deep, it hurts.

I'm talking about a cardboard cut that I got at work; get your mind out of the gutter if you wanted to say "that's what she said" to the title. Or perhaps, I should get mine out of the gutter. Usually, cardboard cuts are barely worse than paper cuts. They usually sting a little bit more, but are rarely deeper than a paper cut or bleed more than a paper cut. Well, this cardboard cut came from a 10 pound box slipping out of my hand while unloading the truck on Thursday night. It didn't seem too bad, so I ran up to AP and got myself some neosporin and a band-aid to prevent the cut from getting in the way. Later on in the night, the band-aid got too sweaty from working hard and wouldn't stay on, so I took it off. At this point, I was able to fully examine my wound. This cut was DEEP... and it is right down the middle of my thumb on my left hand. Since we don't keep peroxide at work for some reason, I just put a fresh band-aid on it and messed with it when I got home. We probably poured about 3 caps full of peroxide into the cut, and it still felt like it wasn't cleaned out enough! Ouch, it stung. Then, we applied some new skin to it to close her up. Well, I woke up Friday morning and forgot that I had cut my thumb, and found myself playing with a zipper on our body pillow. Bad idea... It hurt for about 5 minutes from that... I decided that a band-aid and neosporin is a better solution than new skin... At least with a band-aid I don't forget about the cut... and it protects the wound a little better from silly things like zippers.

It's not harassment if you like it...

My goodness, this first week without facebook and twitter has been quite a doozy. I seem to be getting just as little done as I did before I went "cold turkey." The detox period was rough, but I have finally quit shaking and vomiting, and can eat three full meals again!

This week has been pretty exciting though! I have been given the wonderful task of revamping the video game section of our store. The first day I couldn't find any of the baskets or fixture pieces that I needed, but I made it work. Apparently I am doing pretty well; my boss took me out to Olive Garden for lunch yesterday for all of my hard work. It is still far from being completed, but I must say it is looking much better than it did before. Gearing up for the holidays in July is definitely a good idea.

I'm down to just one class in school, and my final is coming up on the first of August. It seemed far away until I looked at a calendar... Damn. I have quite a bit of studying to do in order to feel prepared for the final exam. I will be spending the next couple weeks making flash cards and practicing my essay questions. For the midterm, I only got half credit for the essay questions because they weren't "thorough" enough. Please tell me that 45 minutes two write four in depth essays about anatomy and physiology is reasonable? I don't think it is...

Eric and I ended up buying some Harry Potter movies on blu-ray. We started watching the first one on regular DVD and couldn't really make it more than 20 minutes in before realizing how much we needed the HD versions. This week, Best Buy has them on sale for $20, and they're packaged with $5 in concession cash! It was a pretty sweet deal! So, we bought the first four since we already have the 5th. Hopefully we will be able to hit the theater and see the new one in the next couple of weeks. My last experience at the theater, to see Transformers 2, was not really all that I had hoped for. I guess I'm just used to the experience in our home without 15 year olds jabbering the whole time.

I got a new running outfit yesterday as well! Eric says the shorts look a little funny, but I love them! It brings me back to my track days... I decided to step on the scale at the gym the other day, only to find out that I had gained a pound. Hopefully it was just my heavy clothes! I'm looking forward to running a lot more once my class is over. I also am hoping that Sandi and I will be able to do Pat's Run next year!

Hey, Pre-Med!

The title of this post is inspired by a group I recently joined on Facebook. Since I've decided that med school is the track I want to take, I have noticed a lot of things about myself that fall into the characteristics described on this page. My friend are always coming to me, wanting to show me their wounds or asking me to analyze their symptoms. As I study anatomy and physiology, I find that I might have a minor case of hypochondria, as I find the "symptoms" described in the homeostatic imbalance sections to fit mine. One thing this group failed to identify was the fact that almost all pre-med students are perfectionists. I have probably sent Eric about 5 text messages that say "I only got a 96% on my quiz :(" Most people would be elated with an above average grade... But there's a part of me that thinks I won't be successful in medicine unless I can get 100% on everything I do! I know it is unrealistic, but that's just how I feel.

String Quartet Tributes

All I have to say is: The Vitamin String Quartet is my absolute favorite thing to listen to while I study. For those of you who are unfamiliar with that quartet, they basically just take all of your favorite bands and create string quartet versions of their songs. My current collection consists of The Beatles (my newest and most favorite), Weezer, Dashboard Confessional, and Death Cab for Cutie. I recently discovered the Vitamin Piano Series as well, and have purchased a piano tribute to Dashboard Confessional. These albums are great to listen to while studying, or if you have a regal event to throw. I LOVE classical music, especially when it resembles some of the great music I love to listen to.

GET THIS ALBUM! The string quartet tribute to the beatles is a 20 song, 2 disc set of the most amazing classical music you will ever hear. It is worth every penny. In iTunes they only allow you to buy each song individually, or you can get it on bestbuy.com or amazon.com ... AMAZING...

Spring Cleaning

Eric and I have decided to finally decorate the house, which means we have to clean first. I never thought two people could make such a mess! Our house was a disaster... and still needs work. We have decided to make room for books, and have hidden away all of our DVDs and CDs. Turns out, we have over 300 DVDs and almost as many CDs. It's ridiculous! We put them all in books, and put the cases in boxes. I'm so excited to move my book collection into the living room!! We aren't quite sure how we want to decorate yet, that will probably take a while.

I also signed up for classes starting on the 13th. I'm taking COM110 and BIO160. Eric says a communication class will be good for me... thanks honey. I'm excited for A&P though, I got a nifty coloring book/study guide that I can use for three different A&P classes, which is neat. I'm looking forward to this whole doctor thing... It will be a lot of work but fun! I wish I would have figured out what I wanted to do a long time ago, I could almost be ready for med school by now... Dang me and my laziness.

We had a game night for work last week that I put together, it went over really well. We had about 40 or so people show up to it and had so much fun! No one wanted to leave, and they all want to do it again soon! I love that I was able to get that many people involved and that they all had so much fun!! This month we are having our annual 3 on 3 basketball tournament at Freestone on Easter Sunday! We already have 9 teams signed up and a bunch of people who want to go. It's going to be awesome. I love my job!

That's all I have for now. Eric and I are about to head out to photograph Crystal and Steven's wedding!! We have another one next weekend. Busy busy bees!!

I've got all these thoughts just floatin' through my brain

It has been quite a while since I have posted anything to this thing we call blogspot. Not much has happend. Cali was fantastic, except that I was sick most of the time. I think I was just stressed out about school and family... Strange how I was more stressed on vacation than I am on any other day. But, I still enjoyed it. My psychology class ended, and I got a B. I'm really disappointed because I only missed 4 points on the final... I wish it counted more towards my grade. All through high school our teachers said that finals and midterms would be so important in college... Well, I have yet to see where a final or midterm really affected my grade that much. I have finally decided that I'm going to med school. It has been a long year of nurse vs doctor. I finally decided that I like science more than anything. The whole time I've been debating, I've been leaning more towards the white coat. Becoming a nurse just seems like the easy way to get into medicine... I would rather work hard and go all out. I'm pretty excited. I got some information on the courses I need to take to transfer to ASU. These next few years I will be spending a lot of time finding the med school that's right for me. If you have any suggestions, let me know! Keep it realistic though... I'm probably not going to Johns Hopkins or anywhere like that...
Work has been pretty interesting lately. Working retail in this economy you would expect to not have many customers to deal with.. But it certainly isn't the case. Since the new store opened up in the mall, we have had a lot more traffic. More people know we exist now that we aren't shoved into a little corner in a practically abandoned shopping center. It's funny how moving across the street can have such a huge impact on business. The mall staff is pretty amazing, especially mall security. This weekend is the big event that the mall is having for the new stores that have opened (Best Buy and Dicks)! It should be interesting.
Well, that's all I really have for now. I really should get better at this...

A blog about nothing, and everything

I have not been on my blog in a very long time, and you may be wondering if I am still alive. Well, you probably aren't wondering that because the only people who read this are family, and since we seem to email each other 5 million times a day, you know I'm alive. Anywho, I thought I would jump on here and blog it up.. or something.

There's really not much to report. School is still going. I'm thinking about taking 11 credits starting in March. I am not quite sure that I can handle that much school and work. But, I am working on this great project for my psychology class that is making me think I might be able to work it out. So the project is a self improvement essay. I know what you're thinking... "Valeri is perfect, what could she possibly have to improve??" I have realized lately that my life is very stressful, or rather I feel stress quite often and it is affecting every aspect of my life. In the short amount of time I have been researching stress, I have learned that if I put myself if a schedule and give myself specific goals, I can improve my mental and physical state of being. Procrastination, apparently, is a side effect of stress. I seem to procrastinate a LOT. I always thought that procrastination caused stress, not the other way around. I also learned that I need to eat a well balanced diet, which I definitely don't do. It is difficult to juggle everything, or so I think. I am pretty sure it is just me trying to justify the things I don't do that I should.

Enough about that... let's talk about work! Work has been amazing lately. I have felt more confident, and I have implemented some new practices that seem to be catching on pretty well. I made these nifty folders to help customers keep information, which helps them remember what we talk about. There's a lot to know about TVs, and people can't always remember everything. Needless to say, the folders make it easy for customers to come back and know exactly what was discussed, and easily decide which solution they want. I love it! The other awesome thing about work is that I only work 1 more day in the old store!!!! We are moving!!! I can't wait!!! Thursday is my last day in the old 260, selling at least. The move has snuck up on us so quickly! The store is such a ghost town when it comes to product. It has helped uncover dust bunnies that have been multiplying under stands and boxes.

Oh yeah, then there's vacation!!! I can't wait to spend the weekend with my family in sunny california, and celebrate 100 years of life! Not my life though, obviously I am not 100... Although I would look amazing if I were! I am going to purdy myself up for the party! I can't wait. I went out and bought makeup... what?! MAKEUP?! Yeah I know... I'm super weird. And, I bought a new curling iron... AND I already burned my forehead with it. Go me! My hair does not like to curl... even though it is naturally curly. But I won't get into that, I'm not that girly yet....

Well, There's my super boring blog!! Hope you're still awake...

The Train

So, I had the opportunity to ride the light rail a couple of times lately. I must say that it is a very exciting thing to do... On Thursday I rode it to my sister's house in Phoenix. I rode from Main/Sycamore to Central/Campbell. It was about an hour ride, but I got a lot done. I read some of my psych book and listened to music. I think I want to get a pass and just ride it from end to end on my days off and do my homework, it's peaceful. I like trains...

At the end of the day, it is what it is

Well, it certainly has been a while since I have written anything on here... I guess that not many things in my life are blog-worthy! Christmas has come and gone, as well as the new year. Christmas was such a fun time! Eric and I, of course, opened our gifts a few days (maybe a week..) before hand... But it was worth it! On Christmas Eve, we went to church with my mom and Greg, and then we drove around and looked at lights. Let me tell you, lights used to be so much better! What is wrong with people?! Why does no one decorate like they used to... Darn HOAs... After looking at lights, we stopped my Fili-Bs and got some food. It's so good, but so gross at the same time. Then, we just kinda hung out with my parents for a while and headed home. On Christmas morning, Jessi came over to our place, as well as my dad, Windy, Taelor, and Marli. It was pretty fun! We took TONS of pictures of Dylan's first christmas (check them out at redefinedsnapshots.com). After that, we headed to Mom's again for the big party! Everyone was there except for Sandi and Steven (they went to Disneyland). After a long day of gift opening and hanging out, it was time for sleep. There was a week of work, then it was New Years! We didn't do ANYTHING... I didn't get out of work on New Year's Eve until 9, which means I didn't get home until around 9:30. We watched a couple episodes of Law and Order, and went to bed. So exciting....
Work has been rather interesting lately... We are moving across the street into the mall so soon! I can hardly wait to get out of our old dirty store. But, like a wise man once said, you can't polish a turd. Hopefully the new location works out well for us. The store looks nice! Our product process manager tried to get me to help with merchandising the week before we opened, to which my direct manager responded "Hell No." I guess it feels nice to be wanted... But I would have loved to help set up the new store! Not to mention that I would be working 6am-4pm M-F and then have the weekend off... Can't win em all I suppose. I also found out that Julie Gilbert, WOLF #1, decided to take advantage of the voluntary separation package offered to all corporate employees. Come February 12th, we will have a new WOLF (Women's Leadership Forum) leader. Julie has been such an inspiration to many women across the company and the world, and will be missed! I'm a little nervous to see how things go on the store level.......
In more exciting news, I went to bring Eric lunch today. That's not the exciting part, the exciting part is that the cops came into the store looking for me! AHHH!!! Well, it's nothing like that. Apparently, someone opened a Best Buy Credit Card with someone else's identity and I rang them out. I didn't do anything wrong, they just want me to look at some pictures and pick out who, if any of them, was the person who opened the account. I'm so excited... The Detective is going to meet me while I get my oil changed tomorrow. WEE!!! My baby is getting her second oil change. I still haven't even named her yet... so sad!
